What is TAB?
The Alternative Board TAB® is a private membership organization dedicated
to the business success of its members. TAB achieves this by helping its
members develop and implement a personalized Formula for Success. TAB
membership includes: Monthly Board Meetings· Private
Sessions· Education Series – CEO Development.
Membership Features
By invitation only· All members are “at the top”
(President, CEO, Owner)· No competitors as
members of the same Board· No substantial existing customer or
vendor relationships.
Board Meetings
Scheduled monthly on the same day each month (i.e. 3rd Tuesday)· Four (or three) hours in length (plus optional
lunches)· Casual, retreat atmosphere, no interruptions· Meet
at members’ facilities or TAB offices.
Private Coaching Sessions
Monthly conference with TAB facilitators· Preparation for Board
meetings· Capitalize on facilitators’ consulting
backgrounds· Focus on priorities to solve the right problems.
Education Series
As part of Board meeting or in addition to them· Topics selected by
the members· Presentations by guest business experts · Questions
and open discussion. CEO

TAB Facilitators
Broad business and consulting experience· Completed TAB Facilitator
Training· Evaluated by members monthly· Keep meeting on
track, balance time, encourage involvement.

Member Issues
All strategic and tactical issues faced by business owners are discussed at
TAB Board meetings. Some of the more popular issues include HR, Financing,
Marketing & Sales, growth,
succession planning and exit strategies, balancing business and personal
priorities, motivating and rewarding key staff, customer relationship
management (CRM), sales planning, marketing and pricing strategies,
customer and product line profitability, time management, and many, many
more.
Membership Qualifications
Must be a decision maker. Must have
leadership and management experience· Must be willing and able to
benefit others and supportive of
the Board· Members are grouped by annual sales levels, number of
employees, and even personality· Attendance is required to at least
75% of the meetings.
Membership Process
Qualifying interview with Facilitator· Determining the
“fit” in a specific Board· Application filed and
presented for approval · Acceptance by both the members of the
proposed Board and the applicant.
What’s the investment?
Time - Tab members invest 5 to 6 hours each month in Board meetings,
private sessions and education· Membership cost depends on the type
of Board the member joins.
What’s the return on
investment?
TAB Members should expect a substantial return on their investment of time
and money from input received at Board meetings, private sessions and
educational sessions.· Each Member receives a set of comprehensive
diagnostic tools and a behavioral style analysis report.· Each
